Job Description
We are headquartered in Santa Monica, California, with teams spanning Marketing, PR, Sales, Supply Chain, and Corporate Functions, including HR, IT, Legal, Facilities, and Finance.
Our Accounting Operations team supports a complex, fast-moving business and partners closely with teams across the organization to ensure spend activity is supported, tracked, and accurately reflected in our financials.
Your Mission
As Manager, Accounting Operations, you will sit within the Accounting organization and primarily support business teams with spend-related administrative and coordination activities. This role focuses on helping teams that are not deeply familiar with internal spend, invoicing, and cost processes navigate those workflows effectively, while ensuring activity supports accurate accounting outcomes.
While business support is the primary focus, the role requires a working understanding of accounting concepts-including accruals, cost timing, and expense classification-to support cost tracking, analysis, and close activities. This is not a traditional accounting role, but accounting knowledge is essential to be successful.
You will partner closely with Legal, Procurement, Accounts Payable, and business teams, serving as a bridge between business activity and accounting requirements.
What You Bring to the Table
• Serve as a primary point of contact for business teams, supporting internal spend processes including contract initiation, invoice submission, and cost tracking
• Guide business partners through required administrative and coordination steps, working across Legal, Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Accounting to resolve issues and keep activity moving
• Apply accounting knowledge to support accurate cost tracking, accruals, cost analysis, and period recognition, including support for month-end close activities
• Identify and resolve gaps or issues that could impact cost accuracy, close timelines, or downstream accounting
• Act as the primary point of accountability for third-party service providers (BPO), overseeing day-to-day service delivery, tracking outputs, and coordinating issue resolution and escalation
• Maintain and enhance trackers and tools used for spend oversight and cost visibility, and identify opportunities to simplify or improve related workflows
• Support ad hoc accounting and operational projects as business and accounting needs evolve
Minimum Requirements
Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 6+ years of experience in accounting operations, procurement support, or financial process coordination
• Experience with accounting close processes, invoice workflows, and cost tracking
• Familiarity with Oracle, OBIEE Answers, Power BI, and Excel-based reporting tools is a plus
Skills & Attributes
• Strong accounting foundation with an understanding of procurement and invoice processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive cross-functional coordination
• Detail-oriented with a process improvement mindset
• Comfortable working with manual trackers and identifying opportunities for automation
• Adaptable, proactive, and collaborative
