POSITION SUMMARY:

The Licensing Accounting Specialist (Cash Applications) is responsible for daily cash application and deposit activities, assisting with processing reports and financial transactions across all Licensing markets, and supports other functional areas as needed.

LOCATION:

Nashville, TN office. BMI operates on a regular in-office hybrid schedule. Currently, most team members are expected to be in the office three (3) days a week.

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Essential Functions: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

• Responsible for applying lockbox receipts, remote deposits, wire transfers, and credit card payments.
• Responsible for reconciling daily cash deposits and investigating discrepancies as needed
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate processing of fee adjustments, write-offs, refunds, and other account transactions across all Licensing markets.
• Process, review, and image report forms in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform daily reconciliation of CRM system to the general ledger as assigned.
• Support month-end close activities as assigned, including preparation and distribution of monthly statements.
• Troubleshoot system and transaction issues, escalating when appropriate.
• Participate in system testing to support enhancements and process improvements.
• Respond to internal and external customer inquiries within established service level expectations.
• Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Regular attendance.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Associate' s degree in accounting or related field required. In lieu of degree, 4 years of equivalent work experience required.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or financial operations .

Experience in high-volume transaction environments preferred

Skills and Abilities: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with CRM and financial systems preferred.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
