Set Production Assistant

Job Description

Set Production Assistant Type Position. This is a unique opportunity to do Set P.A. type work on various projects of ours. [$18.00 - $23.00 /hr. DOE] Some of the requirements for this position include, among other things:

1) A Production degree; 2) Paid production experience with mainstream productions such as features, TV, commercials, or reality productions and familiarity with set etiquette; 3) Must have reliable transportation, clean driving record, and willingness to travel around the greater L.A. area and surrounding areas (however, this is not primarily a driving position); 4) Quick learner, good verbal and written communication skills, reliable, punctual, well organized; 5) Good judgment and diplomacy skills and a professional demeanor; 6) Must be available to start immediately for (paid) orientation / training for upcoming projects; 7) familiarity with all aspects of physical production is highly desired. Any prior leadership experience in either production or non-production positions would be helpful and should be noted.

This work is not suitable for people with no industry experience or whose experience is limited to production office work. Recent graduates with some industry experience and not just student/volunteer type productions may be considered on a case by case basis. This is an opportunity to work on a variety of types of productions throughout the year (TV, features, commercials, etc.) as part of our team. This work is intermittent/part-time and there are opportunities to work on multiple projects of ours. Many people have done this for us for multiple years while still being able to take other gigs that may come their way. We are not a placement agency.

Physical Demands: 1) Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, ascend/descend ladders and stairs, and kneel, bend, or reach to retrieve files and supplies; 2) Ability to lift, carry, and handle materials up to 40 lbs.; 3) Comfortable sitting, walking or standing for extended periods and working in both office and non-temperature-controlled industrial and outdoor environments; 4) Clear hearing and speaking skills for frequent interaction with co-workers and clients in person and via telephone; 5) Ability to travel frequently to various production locations throughout L.A. County and surrounding areas.

The approximate start date is May 15, 2026 but the exact start date is subject to change due to current industry conditions in production but applicant must be available for (paid) orientation/training immediately which is expected to begin shortly after hire.
