Quality Designer (Software)

Team: FCM Embedded QV
Report to: QA Development Director (EASH, Shanghai)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Quality Designer (QD) to join our KL FCM Embedded QV team. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality delivery and effective collaboration between the Kuala Lumpur and Shanghai teams.

You will partner closely with the FCM Development team and EASH QV leadership to drive quality strategy, execute sprint testing tasks, identify risks early in the development cycle, and serve as the voice of quality within the embedded team.

In addition to hands-on testing responsibilities, you will play a leadership role in mentoring KL Embedded QV testers and strengthening cross-site communication, especially between Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur teams .

Key Responsibilities

Quality Planning & Execution
• Partner with the development team to build and execute quality plans throughout the development cycle to meet EA's quality standards
• Execute daily sprint test tasks within the FCM Dev team, ensuring deliverables meet quality expectations
• Perform multiple types of testing including exploratory testing, requirements-based testing, ad hoc testing, and regression testing
• Identify quality issues and bugs as early as possible in the development lifecycle
• Analyze bugs and facilitate efficient ''Bug Flow'' between internal and overseas partner

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement
• Analyze potential risks to features and systems, proactively escalate when necessary
• Propose recommendations to address risks and improve feature quality using data-driven analysis
• Research defects and provide detailed insights to development and QV stakeholder
• Facilitate discussions between QV and development teams to clarify requirements and resolve testing-related issues

Leadership & Team Enablement
• Support the QV DD in EASH by providing leadership and guidance to the KL Embedded QV team
• Mentor and upskill KL QV testers to enhance testing capability and overall team performance
• Coordinate and adapt test efforts to align with overall project priorities and strategy
• Influence best practices, quality standards, and immediate improvements based on research and trend analysis

Cross-Site Collaboration
• Act as a communication bridge between the Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur teams to ensure accurate and efficient information flow.
• Collaborate closely with QV DD/DM and Dev stakeholders across sites to minimize project risks and delays

Qualifications
• 3+ years of black box testing experience
• 1+ year of team leadership or mentoring experience

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), QA methodologies, and engineering practices
• Proven experience partnering with development teams throughout the development cycle
• Excellent debugging and defect analysis skills
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide structured reports, insights, and presentations
• Ability to identify risks and escalate appropriately

Language Requirements
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
• Proficiency in Chinese (written and spoken) is required to bridge communication between Shanghai and Kuala Lumpur teams
