THE ROLE
Insomniac is seeking a Manager, Building & Engineering. This position manages infrastructure planning for Insomniac festivals and large scale events. The Manager will partner with production teams on site builds, ensuring engineering integrity and compliance. This position reports to the VP, Building & Engineering. This is not a remote position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Festival & Event Engineering
• Manage infrastructure planning for festival and large scale events
• Partner with production teams on site builds, ensuring engineering integrity and compliance
• Ensure compliance with installation and teardown of temporary systems
• Conduct site inspections and risk assessments before, during and after events
Vendor & Contractor Management
• Source, hire, and manage contractors, engineers and various vendors
• Manage scope of work, budgets, timelines and performance
• Ensure all vendors adhere to Insomniac safety and operational standards
Compliance & Safety
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, fire codes and OSHA standards
• Maintain permits, inspections and certifications across all event sites and venues
• Develop and enforce safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and incident reporting
• Provide training on safety, systems and operational procedures
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Partner closely with Production, HR, Legal, Operations and other teams
• Support new venue builds, renovations, and special projects
• Partner with sustainability teams on energy efficiency and environmental initiatives
Budget & Cost Control
• Develop and manage operating expenditure budgets
• Identify cost saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety
• Track expenses related to maintenance, repairs and infrastructure builds
• Frequent travel will be required (economy)
QUALIFICATIONS
• 6+ years' experience in building engineering, facilities management or event infrastructure
• Degree in Engineering, operations management or related field
• Experience in nightlife or music industry environments
• Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy management
• Experience supporting large scale live events, festivals, or entertainment venues
• Familiarity with temporary power systems and large scale event builds
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and building/fire codes
• Proven experience managing vendors and contractors
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Must be motivated with an ''Everything is possible'' attitude
• Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally
• Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments
• Ability to manage multiple projects and requests against multiple tight deadlines and timelines at once
• May work in drastic temperature climates
• Position will expose candidate to sensitive company information and so must maintain strict confidentiality
• Must exercise utmost discretion in dealing with staff, vendors and business associates in dealing with sensitive matters
• Must be willing to work during evening and weekend hours and travel to events, as required, to meet deadlines

Salary Pay Range: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 USD
