A state-of-the-art venue with a capacity of up to 2000 will host over 180 concerts and private events annually. You will play a big role in continuing to make this venue an Ottawa staple. The Security Manager will report into the General Manager and will be responsible for the overall management of the Security Department to ensure Guest, Employee, Artist and Venue safety.
Responsibilities:
• Ensures compliance with all Live Nation Global Security policies and procedures, as well as applicable local, and federal laws and regulations, in coordination with the venue management team.
• Manages relationships with third-party security providers, including creating schedules and overseeing labour allocation to ensure adequate coverage for all events and required operating hours.
• Conducts regular patrols throughout the venue and all operational areas to monitor activity and take appropriate corrective action as needed.
• Investigates and resolves security related complaints promptly and professionally, implementing appropriate actions in accordance with venue and Live Nation Global Security policies.
• Works with the General Manager and the Regional Director of Security to review security footage of major incidents, prepare incident reports, and liaise with OPS as required.
• Monitors the ingress and egress of patrons, artists, and employees, ensuring proper screening procedures are followed upon entry and that all individuals exit the building safely.
• Provides guidance and direction to the security team, implementing necessary adjustments to optimize performance.
• Prepares nightly reports documenting timelines of daily and show related activities, including incidents involving unauthorized persons, compliant and non-compliant venue ejections, property damage, theft, or other unusual occurrences.
• Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, coaches and counsels Security staff to ensure efficient and effective department operations.
• Works with the General Manager and Regional Director, Clubs to plan and execute tabletop exercises.
• Knowledgeable in all emergency protocols for show-stop and show-pause procedures, as discussed in meetings conducted by the General Manager and touring teams.
• Liaises with venue management to execute emergency evacuation procedures when necessary, ensuring employees, artists, and patrons exit the venue safely and efficiently.
• Engages with patrons, artists, and employees in a courteous and professional manner to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Valid Security License required.
• Bilingual (English/French) skills are considered an asset.
• Working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment, and enforcement procedures.
• Strong de-escalation skills to manage conflicts.
• Strategic thinker with excellent creative problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrates acute judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
• Strong sense of teamwork and ability to effectively execute security programs.
• Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50 lbs. or more, with occasional periods of sitting.
• Flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Job Posting Compensation Range: $80,000-$90,000
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Sits for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk; stands and walks throughout the day; occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day; lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
