Job Description
A s a Compositing Senior Artist, you will work as part of the C ompositing team in conjunction with the Lighting artists to provide compositing support and solutions to the challenges associate d with delivering sequences in an animated movi e. You will work on developing looks and tools to meet the needs of the Art D irectors and Compositing workflow. Y ou will be expected to collaborate with the wider C ompositing team to offer support and guidance to fellow artists and the Production team .

Responsibilities

• Keeps up on current artistic methodologies and techniques that best suit the production and the company, in the development of a stronger creative environment.

• Works under the artistic supervision of the Lighting Sequence Lead in charge of sequence.

• Supports the Compositing Supervisor and Compositing Leads to create tools and looks to accomplish the artistic goals of the m ovie.

• Takes c harge of the more complex compositing shots of the sequence, when needed.

• Contributes to the creation and maintenance of compositing templates for the sequence, ensuring it's clean, documented, and easy to understand and assists lighting artists, in its correct use.

• Work s closely with the backend departments to define the strategies and workflows regarding the render layer structure for the sequence.

• Work s with the Lighting Sequence Lead and the Compositing Lead to develop gizmos, effects, specific looks, or applications for the sequence, if needed.

• Keeps up to date with current artistic methodologies and with technology trends and tools that best suit the production .

• Provides support for Quality Control of the final images ensuring all material complies with the necessary end goals.

• Work s closely with the Lighting Sequence Lead under their artistic supervision to support them with any compositing tasks.

• Work s closely with the Lighting Leads and artist s to determine the best approaches to solve shot challenges and develop final templates.

• Works together with the team , providing them with support, guidance , and instruction in areas that contribute towards their artistic and professional growth.

• Follows the Compositing Supervisor and Lead's guidance.

• Is proactive , adaptable, and calm under pressure.

• Accountable for meeting productivity and quota targets.

Requirements

• 5+ years in VFX or animation industries.

• 1 + years in the animation industry  

• 4 + years of professional experience in digital compositin g.

• Advanced technical knowledge of Nuke.  

• Python scripting is desirable.  

• Previous experience setting up compositing workflows for production.  

• Deep understanding of lighting rendering passes and AOVs .  

• Self-motivated and comfortable working with deadlines.  

• Strong artistic eye and understanding of colour , lighting, and image analysis.  

• Previous experience with Deep Compositing workflows .  

• Houdini / Solaris k nowledge is desirable .

• High English level desirable.

• Spanish desirable.
